 The snake head and tail of loving something

from the point at which it reached you

- thank you for your work - is enough,

and you can say that also,

half-arsedly, to the service 

and police

whenever the cop in your head

shames you,

and priests too, whenever the saint

dislodges the cop, and your idols too,

wholeheartedly, 

eyes shining in 

embarrassed gratitude,

the heart becoming the body,

wherever the stage conveniently 

dislodges the pulpit.
