If I skipped my birthday this year
Would I stop growing older?
In my head mayhap.
But that would not cause
The Earth to skip her lap
around the sun.
And even if I stood on the moon
I would be dragged along
Another revolution.
Unless outside this Solar System
I can escape,
It seems that I should
just enjoy some cake.
